I'll bet those businesses that signed leases at Centerra budgeted a fixed cost for occupancy, foolishly thinking the McWhinneys couldn't raise their costs. How silly to rely on the rule of law (the Master Financing Agreement), when McWhinney IS the law!!! Just because they might have a fixed lease rate doesn't mean the McWhinneys won't milk their tenants & buyers in other ways. *Thank goodness our "independent" Council is looking out for everyone! After all, that's what representative government is supposed to do, right?

I agree. I watched the meeting and was surprised by the lack of detail and interest by the Council. I think Pielin even joked he didn't understand something because he was asleep. The McWhinneys decided to raise the future tax on their buyers and current owners without a proper vote.

Where is TABOR when you need it? I understand the school operation and maintanance levy decreases by 4% each year while the debt service is now increased but only going to the school thus reducing what McWhinney gets.

Its hard to imagine they were so green they didn't anticipate the vacant land rezoned commercial going up in value thus costing more property taxes? Wow, it seems obvious to me.

Great pictures guys - it really surprised me the little interest Councilor Dozier showed in the subject. He asked no questions, made no comments than moved approval after one hour of others discussing this topic.

It appears they may be violating the Sunshine Act since it was clear everyone knew what was going on and how they were expected to vote on most issues.

I think you missed the point. Some of these current Councilors say they thought the city gave the McWhinney's too much. Well, this was their golden opportunity to show they could stand-up and say no.

It broke my heart to see our elected officials dancing like trained poodles to Rich Sannon's every direction.

Even Cuba's legislative bodies don't all vote the same on every issue. Loveland City Council is clearly deciding important issues in private and the City Council meeting is just a show coordinated by the City Manager.

You are reporting on the meeting as if something was being decided at the meeting. LovelandPolitics.com is naive like the Reporter-Herald. Everyone in city hall knows that public meeting is just a show.

That Gene Pielin has got to go. His snide little comment about short people at the last meeting was outrages and unacceptable. I am only 5 feet tall and can't believe he said that.

He knows plants better than people. He needs to go back to gardnering where his name calling and racist comments (previous meeting) will not offend the plants.
