Yuck this makes me ill. Where is Ouch with his endless anger towards anyone who questions the council? Why can’t he admit these little tricks to sneak something like this past the public after most of us have already submitted our mail-in ballots and gone to bed is very uncool.

I would not have known about this little stunt except for this webpage. I want to know who is giving you all this information about the city and McWhinney. You guys are really on top of it since I read here first about Measure 2C, the trolley deal, Sleeping Gene Pielin and more other stories that I can count. I have a friend in ft. colly who turned me on to this cool page because they read about it in the rocky mountain chronicles or something. Howcome everyone here is talking about it but nobody in the paper writes anything about it? Anyway, I think the community is going to hopefully vote in some people who care about Loveland for a change. By the way, I don’t want to pay for a trolley or parking garage.

I would not assume it will be heard after 11:00 P.M. If items are pulled from the study session agenda or they are completed sooner, it could be heard much earlier. The council may be trying to pass this before the new council is in place out of the fear the new council will not be as sympathetic. We will be expanding the diversion of out sales tax dollars toward improvement costs that typically would have been a cost of the developer. Parking requirements are the responsibility of the developer.

Tonights regular council meeting includes the first reading for appropriations for the downtown property and for the 402 property, if the current agenda is correct. If it is noticed it can be heard. Hopefully some of the public will attend. I can't due to a conflict of interest. Good luck.

A new voice

Geee "New Voice" you sound an awful lot like Ouch. Anyway, thanks for providing this public service since it is the only place where Loveland citizens can express contrasting views.

I don't want to watch the dog and pony show tonight since they don't really have the money to finish the walkway - just buy another building.

Imagine if the same people responsible for the "redevelopment" of what is now Loncoln Place get involved? God help us.

We need a new City Council - get rid of the three now in your story and recall the rest after the election if they vote for further subsidize McWhinney.

I think he didn't like being exposed for his earlier post as "A New Voice." It really seems like they are the same person, Councilman Glenn Rousey. He says above "We will be expanding the diversion of out sales tax dollars toward improvement costs." Sure sounds like a Councilman to me.

Anyway, i don't have much to say so i don't post very much since these issues seem very complicate. Anyways I do enjoy reading everything and learn a lot about city politics.

P.S. Does anyone know if they did vote on buying the 97 acres near the Interstate tonight? if they did and Glenn voted no, that will be my proof.

I am afraid Ouch is addicted. He has more posts than anyone here and calls the blog unfair!

Try speaking at a Council meeting. See how quickly Councilman Rousey and his colleagues will cut you off. Their contributors, on the other hand, get unlimited time. What was the topic? I think the halloween meeting. Let's go anyway and try to talk some sense into these guys. Passing anything that involves millions of dollars that will last 25 years should never crammed down the city's throat only days before the new members get sworn-in.

Please try and stick to the topic. Off-topic, redundant (meaning you posted the same message in other spots in this blog), vulgar, libelous and postings that pretend to represent a real person other than yourself will be removed whenever possible in a prompt manner.

Ouch has decided to ignore the topics and begin posting the same message over and over again across various ongoing dialogs thus interrupting the discussions with off-topic comments and irrelevant data. This is a technique called "bombing" a blog.

If it continues he will be restricted from accessing the site at all and the identity of the computer (and to whom it is registered) will be published here.

Apparently the owner of this blog and I know each other or at least we know the identity of each other. Up unitl know, however, I was unaware that my identity was always known by "Guch" through the blog being able to recognize the computer and the registered owner. No matter.

Guch, I'm not sure where else to post this as it may be "off-topic" so I will include the parking structure and proposed amendments to the MFA.

Yes, it is proposed to be discussed by council. The request is to include parking as a public improvement. Same money but with an additional item (parking sturctures and surface parking) that those monies can be spent on.

So you are all aware, I started posting on this blog when 'redundant' postings were found on almost all the threads that the council was corrupt and in the pocket of the McWhinneys.

Those beliefs were in error and I took exception to them. Why? Because I'm on the city council. I guess I could not help myself and I wanted to argue the point and maybe I got carried away.

One thing I am not nor do I want to be is "politically correct"...If I were or tried to be, I would not be me.

You should know my background, I'm retired from the fire service (30 years) and have taught at Aims Community College for the last 10 years after moving here from Illinois. I'm just what you would call an ordinary person who decided to run for a council seat. It doesn't make me always right or wrong..it just makes me someone who may have different ideas than someone else. I and the entire counicl try to do what we think is best for the city of Loveland. Sometimes people agree and sometimes they don't.

As to getting favors or benefits from developers...the only thing I've ever got was maybe a free cup of coffe or two (I usually left the tip). Some of you may not believe that, but it's the truth.

After 6 years on the council, I've got to known the other members and I find them to be sincere, hard working and honest people...without any hidden agendas. Again, some of you may not believe this but it's true.

In retrospect, some of my votes I would change...the gated development and eminent domain but that's human nature. We all make mistakes in life but we try to do our best.

I guess I may have responded on this blog too many times but it irks me when council makes a decision you disagree with and the assumption is that we must be getting something from someone for our decision. That is a wrong assumption and I take exception to it.

When I leave council in two years, I will leave only with pride that I was able to serve the city to the best of my ability. No padded pockets, no money under the table, no benefits from developers. You may not agree with me but please don't accuse me of making decisions based on anything other than what I felt was right for the city.

I was lucky...I ran two times and was unopposed both times...no donations or contributions. If I had needed contributions and accepted them, it would not have made any difference as to how I voted. That I assure you.

I have tried to be honest on this blog and give information that I knew was correct. I have never tried to mislead or lie. I've bumped heads with a few of you but that's what happens when people have differnt opinions on city matters. It doesn't make either one of us right or wrong, it only means we differ...which is a good thing.

In closing, I did not post under the name "a new voice". I have always posted only under the name of "ouch".

If I continue to post, I will use the new name as found at the end of this post. If anyone wants to ask me anything, just give me call (it's listed). I will always try to give you the information that I have and my own feelings on items. We may still disagree but that's ok.

I am, however, a little distrubed that the blog owner, aka "Guch" knows who is using this blog when he has his own ideas as to what the city should do. Thanks.

So that was an appropriate way for a council person to address a resident? You weren't on here to learn anything or listen to residents, you were on here to learn us in the way of how the Loveland Council and management do business, that we are all just a bunch of ignorant no-growthers which is the furthest from the truth. Figures that would be your attitude, that's how the administration and council have operated for years. You should resign. You should have resigned over your insensitive comment about housing. No vested interest in the status quo? How much more vested can you get? You know when someone has done something wrong by how stridently they protest. I knew you were on council from the beginning, I just didn't figure out which one. Well, the mystery is over but the stink still lingers.

I have been accused of being you (Ouch) and many other names that have posted here. Perhaps the most difficult part of the blog is convincing people the opinions posted here are not necessarily mine but those of the many people who have participated.

I have never said you are corrupt nor do I believe you are "on the take." An honest and open discussion regarding the issues is all we want from the blog even if many of the opinions expressed here are not my own (including yours).

As an example, one person who posts here regularly dislikes the Reporter-Herald with a passion. I may not always agree with them but I do subscribe to the paper. A newer reporter from the Herald told me what the former Editor thought of the man who runs this blog -- and his history etc...it was fascinating since she had just met me in the park at a city event and had no clue who she was talking to nor apparently what she was talking about. It was fun to hear but their "information" is riddled with errors - I have no agenda to compete with them or to damage them in anyway - this blog is sometimes a mirror into what people in the community are thinking so perhaps their problem is with the community and not me.

In any event, you are certainly welcome to post your views here and your previous posts have been informative if even sometimes to answer the obvious question "what were they thinking?"

I only ask that people try to stick to the issues and refrain from personal attacks. We don't edit all the posts and Katty, you are certainly walking the line of what we may allow or not since people may identify your views too closely with ours. At the end of the day, this blog is a place for people to not only get information but also voice their own views. That is what we intended from the start.

Guch you are going soft. Remember this is the guy who said Glenn Rousey would be a good candidate for Mayor> How is that just posting an honest opinion? It all feels creepy to me since that McWhinneys have been walking away with millions even now right before the election. I think LovelandPolitics better be careful the McWhinneys don't buy this blog site just to get rid of you for good! Many people (remmber Ron Weaks)went on Council with good ideas and were slowly turned around. I will not be surpirsed if this happens to the new people when Brown, Heckel and Dozier take a walk. Don: Sorry, but I never said I would be a good cadidate for Mayor. I believe I said if Walsh didn't run again and Pielin didn't run, then you might see me run. Any decision to run was still undecided.

I probably do post too many times here but sometimes it's in response to the many different posts that accuse the council of being corrupt. I guess I could just reply to one or two but it's difficult for me not to respond to them all. I will try to limit my postings in the future.

And yes, using the word "ignorant" was in poor judgement. I believe I apologized before in a previous post for not being civil. Sorry I can't be more "politically correct", but that's me. When the council, which includes me, is accused of somthing wrong, I take offence and respond in a politically incorrect manner...but again, that's me. Would you really want all elected officals to be something they are not?
