Running unopposed, Carol Johnson will be representing Ward II on Loveland's City Council unless a resident of that Ward decides to run a write-in campaign.

A recent arrival to Loveland, Johnson appears to be a McWhinney backed candidate recruited by Loveland's Chamber of Commerce.  Do you have any opinion of her after reading the story on LovelandPolitics and reading her website?

This is sad and tragic for Loveland. Exactly why we need campaign finance reform. She really seems qualified to run in Golden - but they already rejected her.

I cannot believe she would get elected if someone else were running.

A renter who wants higher property taxes? Lovely. Isn't there anyone in Ward 2 who wants to run? Maybe someone who has lived in Loveland perhaps?

Is that the infinity symbol the McWhinneys use on their logo on her beret? Cute.

What interest does she have in Loveland? Why would anyone vote for her to be on Council?

Great site by the way - just found it on Goolge search. It could be easier to find the blog however.

The Reporter-Herald reports her time living in Loveland at 31 years!!! I know that isn't correct.

Now I know what that Ouch guy is so afraid of with this website. The Reporter-Herald never researches ANYTHING but just reports people's lies. Thanks for doin the research.

I told my wife this morning - there you have it. The Reporter-Herald candidate web profile talks about her like she has been here forever and says her time in Loveland is 31 YEARS! Maybe in Colorado but NOT Loveland.

What good is journalism when all they do is repeat lies other people tell them?

Did you see Troy Krenning's time in Loveland? 45 years according to the Reporter-Herald! Gee, he is only 45 years old so he must have never been police chief of that little town in Kansas!

Why can't these guys just tell the truth instead of always trying to gain some little advantage by stretching the truth.

Someday we might have a real newspaper in town and someone might really check their information.

Ned: Afraid of the web site? Hardly. Actually, I like this blog. I enjoy humor and find comments made, like yours, enjoyable. It's always fun to find people who base their beliefs on 100% assumption and 0% fact...kinda like your assumption that I'm afraid of this blog.

Believe it or not, I'm not a fan of the Reporter-Herald and yes they added the number 1 after the 3 years that Carol has been in loveland. No proof-reading for a newspaper? What a shame.

The Reporter-Herald is undeniably the poorest example of professional jouranlism published today. Given what passes for professional journalism nowadays that does not say much, though.

Is she a McWhinney stooge? She said she would ask questions of them and their development - i.e. why are they treated better than other developers, is growth too fast, is their request for subsidies too much since malls last 10-20 years at most (City subsidies to McWhinney last 25 years ... hmmm.) The only Councilors I've really seen question McWhinney are Glen Rousey (too little, too late) and Walt Skowron, for what its worth. Even Jan "Downtown" Brown has sold out, so it seems. So, what does Johnson's comment, "glad they're here but we need to question the incentives" approach mean? She was annointed by Peilin, so I hear.

Have you noticed that she has signs out? Why have signs all over the place when no one is running against her? Ego problems?

Don't know. No write-in candidate so the seat is already hers. I guess we are all burned on hearing Councilors talk tough about McWhinney (like on the Trolley) but than roll upside down like a submissive dog so McWhinney can rub their bellies. (by refusing to vote no even when the community is up in arms about it).

Your article was too rough. She seems like a tough person who Pielin cannot control even if he recruited her. I predict she will be great!

How come no coverage of the Mayor's race? Seems like nobody knows this baby face Troy but I saw Don Marostica putting up signs for him in my neighborhood. I don't think Gene has a chance.

Well, I understand your harsh coverage of Johnson motivated her to stay out of the last candidate debate. Thank you.
